UPDATE "...Had to correct the picture of the PB4Y-1 climbing out of the jungle. It is correct that it was #61 "Mark Farts", BUNO: 32061 after take off from Carney Feild, Guadacanal some time in September 1943. It was crew 4's plane, piloted by LT M.V. Montgomery though! (I was in the bow turret). Commander Sears (our skipper) plane was No. 48 "Sears Steers" BUNO: 32048..." Contributed by Jack Bartell jjbartell@gorge.net [30JAN2011]

UPDATE "...The reason why I'm writting is,while looking at VB-104 there is a picture of PB4Y-1 climbing out over the jungle. I was reading Steve Birdsall's book "Log Of The Liberators: An Illustrated History of the B-24" and I noticed on Page 133 is the same shot with the caption saying that this was Commander Harry Sears second ship "Mark's Farts". I hope this info helps in some way. Keep up the great work! Thank you. Doug Barrington polecat369@yahoo.com..." [03APR2004]
