We would also like to form a VP-6 Association at the reunion. Elect officers etc.. See what this has done for VP-28 at http://www.patron28.org. They are expecting over 200 people in San Diego in Aug. Name tags, Beverages etc. If the Association idea does not work your money will be refunded to those who do not attend the gathering in San Diego.

ReunionsREUNIONs: "...I have just come back from a reunion in Colorado Springs, CO of VP squadron members who were the first group at NAS Atsugi, Japan. In 1951 VP-6 and VP-772crews were on the Far East Championship football team at NAS Atsugi, Japan. These men had not seen each other in 47 years. The reunion was the first time these people had seen each other in 47 years. They all played on the Championship Atsugi Flyers Football team in 1952..." ReunionsREUNIONs: "...In communication with several VP-6 Shipmates from 1950-53, interest has been shown in a West Coast VP-6 Reunion sometime in 98 or 99 (before many more of us are permanently retired)! John Dolph and BJ Thomas aren't on Internet, yet, so I volunteered to start collecting names of other Blue Sharks who would be interested in setting up a gathering. Please leave names of any shipmates who might be interested and addresses (e-mail or snail-mail) at my e-mail. I will forward them to Boatswain Thomas for further development. Thansks!...DICK NEUFELD rneufeld@impulse.net..." [29MAR98]

UPDATE "...I am acting as a temporary address to see what interest there is for an organized VP-6 Reunion. It is almost completely disorganized, currently. One who responded to my "Shipmates" note early this year may have a computer, now, and may pick up the ball more aggressively. I'll forward what has come to me if he is interested in carrying it. In the last 3 months, only 12 have responded positively. They served as Blue Sharks all the way from 1949 to one who was with VP-6 at its disestablishment, and is now in VP-65 (Pt. Mugu). We are too small a group, so far, and few of us would know one another; so we await more awareness/interest before setting dates or places. DICK NEUFELD rneufeld@impulse.net..." [05JUL98]
