REUNION: "...I would like to make all Ventura Veterans aware that the Ventura Memorial Flight up here in Canada wants to know if your groups would be interested in having a 'Ventura Reunion' here in Edmonton, Alberta. Instead of your committee's having to work at setting up your own Reunion's, we thought that everyone could gather together up here for one big bash! Time period for this would be August 2000. We are only soliciting interested votes so contact us at the e-mail listed above. P.S. If you don't know what we're about, have a look at our newsletter (Ventura Memorial Association). Look forward to hearing from all of you!..." Contributed by Anthony T. Jarvis vmfa@telusplanet.net[07DEC98]

Over 50 PB4Y squadrons will be represented! We're expecting 200-300 PB4Y veterans and their families. Please contact Ron Sathre at 31262 San Andreas Drive Union City, CA 94587 (510) 487-PB4Y and our newly constructed website at: http://www.PB4Y.com..."

We had a great 7th Annual PB4Y All Squadron Reunion, 29 May to 1 Jun '97 at the Red Lion (now Double Tree) Hotel, Colorado Springs, CO. Over 125 PB4Y veterans, family members and fans attended, representing nearly 50 PB4Y squadrons from WWII through the Korean and "Cold" Wars. We had many "first timers" in attendance, some brought their sons and grandchildren with them! Some of the many squadron represented were: VPB-102, VPB-106, VPB-108, VB/PB-109, VPB-111, VPB-112, VPB-116, VPB-119, VPB-120, VPB-121, VPB-123, VPB-197, VPB-200, VD-1, VD-3, VD-4, VD-5, VP-28, VP-871, VP-772 & Coast Guard. Those interested can write me for a list of names and squadrons in attendance. The Colorado Springs area was an excellent PB4Y Reunion destination and we had more than enough to do, such as visiting the US Air Force Academy, The Flying "W" Ranch, The B-24 Museum in Pueblo, Pikes Peak, and Cripple Creek (for a little gambling in the frontier mining town). In the last seven years, approximately 1,500 PB4Y veterans from the US Navy, Coast Guard and Marine Corps and their families and PB4Y fans have attended these special family oriented PB4Y All Squadron Reunions. Through my personal efforts, I have found over 500 PB4Y veterans who would have NOT normally met! These are very special and meaningful PB4Y Reunions, both from the squadron/crew perspective as well as from the individual and personal meetings that have occurred. Always looking to provide a family oriented, entertaining and educational experience, we are headed to see a REAL PB4Y-2 Privateer in late June 1998 at the Yankee Air Museum, Yspalanti, MI. Over 200-300 PB4Y veterans are expected to attend. Those interested need to contact me ASAP for details and to get signed up while they still have the time! Remember, grandkids 12 and under are FREE! Plan to join us in '98. Regards, Ronald R.
